Release candidate available
A lot of improvements "under to hood" and a fresh new design characterize this release. Just (re)start the application, Java will download the missing or new libraries for you!
Pace Project at "Carrefour numérique"
Today, I gave again a talk about Diki and this project. The focus was mainly on privacy issues and XMPP. The structure was similar to the talk at the 25C3 but I integrated some suggestions from their feedback system.
Subversion access available
The current version is now available via anonymous svn! It is hosted at berlios.de, a sourceforge-like opensource supporter.
Sourcecode
There is currently a sourcecode dump available. The subversion account shall be hosted at berlios.de (a sourceforge clone). I hope they'll accept my project within a few days...
Pace project at 25C3: "Nothing to hide"
At the end of 2008 I gave a short talk about this project at the chaos communication conference. I talked about privacy issues in general and a bit about the current implementation. The talk is available as stream.
PGP support added
The current version of Diki also includes PGP support! Keys are generated automatically and can be shared with friends. Later version will automatically encrypt and sign messages. Read the full article for all current features!
New Version
A greatly improved version of diki has been released. It fixes several issues and adds more features. There have been problems when starting diki on windows platforms - these have now been fixed! You can create your own foaf profile and share it with your friends. And you can rate the results of your tag-searches
Browser plugins available!
I finally created a nice api for the application using the embedded jetty http server! Now you can add new bookmarks with a firefox button!
Friends graph available
Now, you can easily browse through your friends! Simply select the friends tab and right-click on one of them to retrieve their contacts!
New version available!
We updated diki - the distributed knowledge infrastructure client! If you already use the client through webstart then it will be updated automatically on restart! Read the article to get information about bugs and features!
